KV Island Rentals - Online Booking Terms and Conditions

1. Payment and Rates

  • Payment Mode: KV Island Rentals operates on a cashless basis. Payments are accepted only via Credit Card and Paypal through our online booking platform.
  • Currency and Pricing: All rates are listed in Samoan Tala (WST) and include unlimited mileage.
  • Rental Period: Rentals operate on a 24-hour cycle. Late returns may incur additional charges.
  • Booking Confirmation: Full payment is required to confirm the booking, along with a security deposit due on the day of vehicle pickup.
  • Cancellation Policy:
    • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the rental start date incur a 25% fee.
    • Cancellations within 7 days of the rental start date are non-refundable.

2. Security Deposit

  • A refundable deposit of WST $200–500 (depending on vehicle type) is required and will be refunded to the original payment method within 5–10 business days if the vehicle is returned in its original condition.
  • The deposit is used to cover costs associated with refueling, cleaning, repairing damages, fixing scratches, removing stains, and replacing any missing accessories.

3. Insurance and Liability

  • All rental cars are fully insured, but the renter is liable to pay the first SAT $3,000 for damages if the vehicle is involved in an accident.
  • Premium Insurance: Zero Excess (per day) is available to reduce the excess to $0.
  • Note: Daily discounts do not apply to the insurance option.

4. Fuel Policy

  • Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
  • Refueling costs will be deducted from the security deposit if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank.

5. Driver Requirements

  • Drivers must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license from their home country.
  • A Samoan Temporary License (WST $30, valid for one month) is required and can be arranged through KV Island Rentals.
  • Smoking in vehicles is strictly prohibited.

6. Operating Hours and Vehicle Delivery

  • Office Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Sundays and holidays are by appointment only.
  • Delivery & Pickup: Available anywhere in Upolu for an additional charge. Airport transfers are also available—refer to the Transfer Services page for more details.

7. Booking Adjustments and Changes

  • Bookings can be rescheduled to a later date within 7 days of the pickup date for the same or a longer duration.
  • Once rescheduled, bookings are non-refundable.

8. No-Show Policy

  • Failure to show for pickup or drop-off within one hour of the scheduled time will result in forfeiture of the initial payment.
  • Exceptions may apply if changes are communicated at least 6 hours in advance or arranged during business hours.

9. Seasonal Pricing

  • Rates are subject to increase during peak seasons (June–September and November–January).

10. Lost Keys

  • Lost keys will incur a replacement fee of WST $500.

11. Rental Restrictions

  • Vehicles must only be driven on sealed roads.
  • Renters are responsible for all tolls, parking fees, and traffic violations incurred during the rental period.

12. Vehicle Condition

  • Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as provided, excluding normal wear and tear.
  • Smoking in vehicles is prohibited and will result in a WST $500 cleaning fee.

13. Last-Minute Bookings

  • Bookings made less than 10 hours before the desired pickup time may not be accommodated.

Agreement

By proceeding with a booking, you agree to these terms and conditions and accept responsibility for the rental vehicle and any applicable charges.
